Sottovento Club: the rebirth of a family icon in Costa Smeralda
In the heart of Porto Cervo, where Sardinia’s crystal-clear light reflects on emerald waters and the scent of the Mediterranean maquis drifts through the sea breeze, a place was born in 1979 that would become a timeless symbol of Costa Smeralda: the Sottovento Club.
At the origin of this vision was Antonello Veronaan entrepreneur of refined intuition, capable of anticipating the desires of an international clientele and transforming them into experience. With his natural sense of elegance, discretion, and the uniquely Italian art of hospitality, Antonello laid the foundations of a club that soon became far more than just a venue: a private ritual, an exclusive salon, a true nighttime institution.
From its earliest years, Sottovento became a discreet refuge for heads of state, European aristocracy, royal families, members of the Aga Khan dynasty, entrepreneurs, artists, and icons of the international jet set. Its softly lit evenings, with refined music and whispered conversations, have spanned the seasons, preserving encounters, relationships, and stories that continue to fuel its legend to this day.
But above all, Sottovento has always been — and remains a great family story.A club born and nurtured across generations, where continuity has always been its true essence. Over time, the legacy has naturally passed from founder to son.
Today, under the guidance of Alberto VeronaSottovento is preparing to open a new and prestigious chapter in 2025, marking the arrival of the third generation of the Verona family, represented by Anna Gaia Verona, who joins her father bringing fresh vision and contemporary sensibility.
Sottovento 2025 stands as the natural evolution of a legacy built on elegance, tailor-made hospitality, and absolute discretion. A club that once again fulfills its original promise: to be an exclusive and international destination, selective and intimate, reserved for a global clientele in search of authenticity, quality, and understated luxury.
Fine dining, signature live music, a suspended atmosphere, and fully personalized services: every night at Sottovento becomes a bespoke experience, honoring the tradition that, since 1979, has made the club an undisputed icon of Costa Smeralda.
